Spring Turkey Season

Spring Season: 29 March - 11 May 2025

Special Youth Season: 22-23 March 2025 & 17-18 May 2025

Spring Means and Methods

NOTE: All harvested turkeys must be brought to the check station (building 1944) for data collection and reporting. Normal business hours for biologist during the season are Monday through Friday, 0730-1600 and the first 4 weekend days (22 Mar-13 Apr) of the season 0730-1630. Turkeys brought to the check station after these hours must use the available kiosk. Kiosk instructions are posted on site. 

**REMINDER: Turkeys must be brought in whole**

Spring Turkey Reservation 

During the Spring Turkey Season hunters will be allowed to make reservations starting at 1200 hours (noon) the day prior. Hunters can begin checking into their reservation at 0400 hours. A reservation that has not been checked into by noon will expire and a slot will become available for same day checkin. 

Same day check in starts at 0400 hours. 1700 hours is the latest a hunter can check-in for same day hunting.  All turkey hunters must checkout by 2100 hours, iSportsman does not automatically check you out


Fall Turkey Season

Archery Only Season: 28 September - 1 November 2024

Youth Only Season: 25-27 October 2024 & 6-19 January 2025

Fall Season: 2 November 2024 - 5 January 2025

NOTE: Fall Turkey season is the only time hunters may harvest a bearded hen.

Normal business hours outside the fall season (0730-1600). Turkeys brought to the check station after hours must use the available kiosk. Kiosk instructions are posted on site.

Hunting with a Companion

Hunters are allowed to recreate with companions. During the check-in process, a hunter may add Participants or a Guest (Guest Observer). Hunters are prohibited from adding more than one (1) Guest (Guest Observer) but are allowed to take two (2) Participants. 

NOTE: All Guest (Guest Observers) nine years old and older must have an iSportsman account and a valid Fort Cavazos permit. 

 

Individual hunters may not have multiple weapons in their possession/vehicle while hunting to include interchangeable barrels. No firearms are authorized at all while archery hunting. Pistols are not authorized on Fort Cavazos. 

***If the iSportsman system is unresponsive due to system outage, you may leave a message on***
the iSportsman duty phone (254) 535-3295 to report the outage. You are still responsible for
checking yourself out of an area once iSportsman is active.
